Cartor Security Printers, part of Spectra Systems Corporation and a global leader in high-security printing solutions has been awarded a significant five-year contract to produce definitive postage stamps for Swiss Post, the national postal service of Switzerland. The “four plus one” contract, which marks a new client partnership for Cartor, is expected to generate revenues of between $3 million and $4 million over its term, subject to demand and additional options.

The contract followed a competitive tendering process, with Cartor’s selection based on its outstanding track record in quality, competitive pricing, environmental credentials and innovative technology. A key factor in the successful bid was Cartor’s pioneering work in hybrid stamp solutions featuring 2-D barcode serialisation - an innovation that substantially reduces counterfeiting and stamp reuse losses.
Based in the UK, Cartor Security Printers has been at the forefront of secure print for over 40 years, supplying governments, postal authorities and brand owners worldwide. Renowned for its expertise in security print, authentication features and high-quality design, Cartor has produced stamps for over 180 postal administrations and is one of the few printers globally capable of combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced technological solutions.
Commenting on the contract win, Andrew Brigham, managing director of Cartor Security Printers, said: “We are extremely pleased that Swiss Post has placed their trust in Cartor to support them with their security printing requirements. A key differentiator in this tender was our experience in developing and implementing hybrid stamp solutions with 2-D barcode serialisation.”
This new partnership reinforces Cartor’s position as a trusted provider of secure postage solutions in an ever-evolving postal landscape, where innovation, traceability and sustainability are becoming increasingly important.
